Chalk Painting Tutorial: Northern Lights Finish

Disclaimer: I like to play music in my shop while I paint so you may hear that and maybe my child in the background as well. Also, I’m a nurse and a painter. I’m not a professional videographer. I’m just a regular person trying to support my family and trying to do so while doing what I love by painting. I thought perhaps some people might like to know how I paint, so I started recording videos while I work and offer them at what I think is a reasonable cost. Please also keep in mind that it’s very hard to talk to yourself for 2-3 hours on a recording. I do try to explain what I’m doing as I work and what products I’m using on all my videos. Here it is. The finish I named Northern Lights because it reminds me of all the beautiful colors that light of the sky in just a handful of areas around the world at just the right time. Painted in Wise Owl Paint products. The colors blend in places and stand on their own in others and together, they are stunning. She’s a beautiful pop of color that will light up any room.

This is a recorded video tutorial taken during the painting of this piece. It is intended to teach you the technique so that you can recreate a similar look.
