How To Get A Venetian Style Finish

Ever scrolled through Pinterest and seen those old gorgeous doors found in European homes and thought to yourself “wow, I wish I could recreate that look”. Well, now you can. You’ll need some chalk paint and some texture medium. We recently became a content creator for Dixie Belle Paint Company and are so excited for the opportunity. Not only do we love the products, but love the fact that they have everything you need for a furniture makeover. From paint, to primer, topcoats, embellishment products, patina creating products, and now with the addition of the belles and whistles, there will also be Transfers and rice papers. What more could you need?!?! It’s literally a one stop shop.
Anywho, back to this finish. (When we painted this piece we were using another paint company but now use Dixie Belle exclusively.) You’ll need your favorite colors from Dixie Belle Paint Company, some Sea Spray texture medium, some chip brushes, paint brushes and clear and dark wax. I recommend using the colors Sawmill Gravy, Fluff, Burlap, Mud Puddle and Chocolate as you want a bright white, off white/cream, and light and darker shades of brown. You can find these products here.

Once you’ve got your product, all you need is a little time and eagerness to want to learn. In this quick video, I’ll show you how to get this Venetian Old World look. If interested, we have a full start to finish tutorial available on here for purchase.
